This project mainly concerns:
i) the rehabilitation of the some of the Lome-Ouagadougou road sections: on the Togo side - Atapkame-Blitta road (150km), on the BF side - Koupela-Bitou- Togo border (150 km) with 3 km long Mogande access road towards Ghana;
ii) the construction of 97km of feeder roads in both countries, markets, parking and rest areas and consultancy services to supervise these; and
iii) transport facilitation services (cargo tracking system, the automating and streamlining customs procedures, axle load control, etc.), institutional support and project management assistance in both countries.
The TA grant from the EU-AITF will cover technical assistance to strengthen the existing project management capacity in both the Burkina Faso and Togo sides for the implementation of this very strategic regional project.
