In order to reduce technical and commercial losses, increase the quality of service to customers and extend electrification to new connections in Conakry’s area, EDG requested support from AFD in three main sectors :

  • improvement and extension of Conakry’s distribution grid : reinforcement of MV/LV grid (MV and LV distribution lines, MV/LV stations, LV meters including prepayment meters) within Kagbelen and Ansoumaniah’s zones;
  • reinforcement/improvement of transmission grid from production sites to Conakry: improvement/reinforcement of HV transmission lines, construction and improvement of HV/MV substations;
  • technical assistance to support EDG through capacity building and training sessions.

The IG from the AITF will finance works, supply, engineering, supervision, communication and EU visibility plan as well as financial audits in the context of the improvement and extension of Conakry’s distribution grid, i.e. reinforcement of MV/LV grid (MV and LV distribution lines, MV/LV stations, LV meters including prepayment meters) within Kagbelen and Ansoumaniah’s zones.
