The project aims at rehabilitating and improving the Maputo International Airport airside infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons and airfield ground lighting. The investment, totalling an amount of USD 70 million, is financed by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB). The credit facility agreements of AFD and EIB were signed with the Government of Mozambique in March and July 2014, respectively. The works are ongoing and expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
The EU-AITF TA grant finances the consulting services for the design and supervision of the Maputo International Airport airside infrastructure rehabilitation works. The selected consultants are currently in charge of the works supervision.
