The Project has been developed with funding provided by the PIDG via InfraCo Africa and is sponsored by eleQtra and ENGIE. The Project aims to be the first utility scale wind power project in Ghana. It will entail the procurement, construction, ownership and operation of a 50MW wind power plant comprising up to 25 utility scale wind turbine generators and 16 km transmission line located approximately 90km east of Accra close to the coast of Ghana in the Greater Accra region. The Project is expected to cost up to €120m to construct and finance and will sell power to the Electricity Company of Ghana (“ECG”) under a 20 year Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) at a tariff regulated by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (“PURC”).
